Trip to Madison, IN

In celebration of their 40th anniversary (congrats, Mom and Dad!) we took my parents on a little trip to Madison, Indiana. Despite living here for 9 years, we've never made the trip down to this historic town on the Ohio River. Now that we've been there, we wish we'd gone in our pre-Alaina days.

Here's Todd with Alaina by the Broadway Fountain in Madison:

On our way to Madison, we stopped at the Stream Cliff Herb Farm, which is Indiana's oldest herb farm and features many beautiful gardens, a tea room, wine tastings, shops, etc. We had lunch in the tea room. Here I am with Alaina in the fairy garden:

It's not my favorite picture, but here's our little family on a bridge at the herb farm:

And here are Grandpa Hal and Grandma Becky with Alaina at the fountain in Madison:

Finally, here's the view from the back of our inn (we stayed at the inn inside Clifty Falls State Park):

Overall, we had a great time. There was something for everyone -- history, gardens, hiking, shopping, art, etc. The biggest challenge was eating out at every meal with Alaina. Thankfully the four of us were able to team up so we could all eat our meals.
