Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving -- all four of Alaina's grandparents came to visit and enjoy the big meal. Todd's parents stayed through the weekend and we had lots of fun. There were tons of great dishes on the table, but Alaina was obsessed with Grandma's cranberry salad. She ate so many helpings of it, and of course it was really sticky and red. ;-) I really enjoyed hosting this year. I'm already trying to come up with an excuse to make some of the dishes again!

Alaina was thrilled to receive a new kitchen from her Poppy and Grandma Linda as an early birthday present. We put it together during her nap and she discovered it right away. She smiled and kind of looked back at us as if to say "is this really for me?" Since then she has played with it obsessively. She loves to make cheeseburgers, wash her babies in the sink, and talk on the little phone. I think this will really help us get through the winter months. It is nicer than my kitchen!

We went to the Children's Museum on Saturday -- they have special activities during the month of December. This photo was taken in the comic book heroes exhibit:

I just think it's cute the way she's peeking through the door:

Grandma and Poppy also got Alaina a cute holiday dress and she actually wore it for Thanksgiving. Grandma Becky brought a little book about Thanksgiving that turned out to be written by a friend of mine!

Finally, here's a brief video of us on the yule slide at the museum. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
