More Vacation Pics

Alaina thoroughly enjoyed the beach -- having us hold her so she could pretend to surf the waves, digging in the sand, finding pretty rocks, and making pretend clam chowder with a hole and some seaweed. One day she met two different "friends" at the beach, so the next day she grabbed my hand and pulled me along on a mission to find new friends. Most of the kids that day looked a lot older or younger than her, so it wasn't fruitful, but I was proud of her for taking the initiative anyway.

I have tons of pictures to sort through, and don't want to bore you with too many of them (plus they take forever to upload), but I will definitely be posting more as time allows.

Alaina's cousin, Jack, wrapped her (and his brother) up like burritos in blankets while they watched a movie:

Grandma Linda took Alaina, Jack, Kim, and me to see a musical children's production of Jack and the Beanstalk, Alaina's first live theatre performance (spelling it "theatre" always makes it look fancier). She really was attentive, behaved well, and seemed to enjoy it.

Alaina took a big bubble bath in Poppy and Grandma's tub. The bubbles got so frothy that only her head was sticking out!

I just love this photo of Alaina on a beach walk -- the playful look in her eyes as she looks over her shoulder.
